Odile teaches a range of classes and workshops to encourage, inspire and empower mid-life women in the exploration and development of their artistic and creative lives. As an expressive arts practitioner, she incorporates an integrated arts approach (visual arts, movement, poetry/journaling, music/song, storytelling) designed to assist people in expressing images that stimulate the natural pleasure and healing processes of the Self and to deepen experiences. Please see the workshops section of this site for more information.
In the 1990’s Odile formed a one-day art touring company, treating people to the wonders of Southern California’s art. During this time, she began to develop her own artistic style, first exhibiting in 2003. She has participated in exhibitions at the Mission Viejo Library, the Showcase Gallery, Long Beach Arts, Southern California Artist’s Association, Huntington Beach Arts Center, and others. In 2008 she became the only Huntington Beach resident ever selected to participate in the prestigious Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts.
Odile studied art at Orange Coast College, Golden West College, UCLA and with private teachers, experimenting with various techniques to develop her personal contemporary style and passion for working with 2-D mixed-media. Owned by collectors in the Western United States, the Pacific Northwest, the East Coast and South Africa, her artwork is inspired by the beauty and intricacies of nature’s forms, the multi-layered nature of consciousness, poetry, dreams, and her personal history and symbols--including the rich hues of primitive and ethnic cultures. She lives in Huntington Beach with her husband Michael.
