MIXED-MEDIA II: DEEPENING THE PROCESS WITH LAYERS & TEXTURES
(One or Two Days)

Introducing an explorative and expanded approach to mixed-media essentials: focusing on layers, textures and design; while discovering our personal symbols and images. Review and practice the most important design elements. Through demos and instruction, learn techniques to create texture and pattern, (for eg. carving, glazing, printing, scraping, sponging, staining, taping, wrapping). Learn to build layers with paint, pastes and papers, (found, recycled, magazine, newspaper, rice, specialty, drawing). Learn the importance of background and foreground distinction; blending and integration of elements; and color essentials.
