Odile Nicolette

Don’t be surprised if you find international influences in Odile’s art. She has lived and worked on four continents. Born a twin and one of seven siblings in a fishing village on the west coast of South Africa, she lived in Melbourne, Australia for nine years; resided in Luderitz, Namibia as a teenager; attended  university in Cape Town, South Africa; and emigrated to Southern California as a young adult. She became a US citizen, traveling widely and studying in Europe from her home base in Orange County.

As a mid-life artist Odile has been involved in creative and artistic pursuits throughout her career. Her ability to draw and visualize space was honed by her work and studies in architecture at the University of Cape Town. In the US she earned a BA degree in journalism, an MA degree in spiritual psychology, and a certificate in expressive arts therapy, combining her heart’s interests, and taking her artwork to new depths.

Odile has taught art and creativity classes at her center in Huntington Beach and in the community since 2003, and has been a guest lecturer at Chapman University, CSU Fullerton and Irvine Valley College. As both a visual artist and an expressive arts practitioner, she is interested in art and other forms of creativity as healing tools that contribute to our wholeness and integration.
